What is TMS Therapy?
Changing Lives One Patient at a Time
TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a non-drug treatment for major depression. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI, to reignite dormant synapses in the brain and help your brain function the way it was meant to.
It is not a drug, “shock” therapy, or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for MDD without the common side effects of medication.
*Only for ages 15+
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When starting TMS therapy, you can expect a comfortable, in-office experience guided by your provider. The treatment is quick and structured into regular sessions over 7-8 weeks, with each visit lasting under 30 minutes. While the device gently stimulates targeted areas of the brain, you remain awake and relaxed throughout. Once the session ends, you can get right back to your daily routine without any downtime or disruption.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
During a NeuroStar TMS session, you’ll sit comfortably while a small magnetic coil is placed on your head to deliver focused stimulation to specific brain areas. You may hear clicking and feel a light tapping sensation, but the treatment is noninvasive and typically lasts 18–24 minutes. Afterward, you can immediately return to your normal activities, including driving, with no impact on alertness or memory.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of TMS therapy can vary depending on your insurance coverage. Many insurance providers recognize TMS as an effective treatment for depression and may offer partial or full coverage once eligibility requirements are met. Our team will work with you to review your benefits, explore financing options if needed, and provide guidance to make treatment as accessible as possible.
