Michael J. Auza, M.D.

Dr. Auza is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He maintains a congenial, professional office environment to ensure comfort and privacy for patients. His practice style is warm and empathic, influenced by his training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. As a licensed physician, Dr. Auza can prescribe medications and can work collaboratively with patients who have or need talk therapists. If medications are clinically indicated, he helps his patients explore and understand the biological, psychological, and social factors that impact their wellbeing. His global assessment ensures that patients make informed decisions about their own care. Dr. Auza completed his residency in psychiatry in San Francisco at California Pacific Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He attended medical school at University of Virginia School of Medicine after graduation from the College of William and Mary. His undergraduate studies were concentrated on his major in Neuroscience with a minor in Biochemistry.
