Shree Nitya Sarathy, M.D.

Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Sarathy is a psychiatrist who is board certified in both general and forensic psychiatry.  She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, where she continued on to earn her M.D.  She then completed psychiatry residency training as well as a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  She served as a chief resident during her 3rd and 4th years of residency.  Throughout her career, she has served in many administrative and leadership roles in addition to providing psychiatric treatment.

Dr. Sarathy firmly believes in a holistic approach to medicine and psychiatry.  She believes in the power of psychotherapy, which she utilizes in conjunction with medication management.  Since all individual’s circumstances are different, she takes an individualized approach to each patient she treats.  Being a military spouse as well as a psychiatrist has helped her gain a deep understanding and appreciation particularly for trauma and the role trauma plays in impacting mental well-being.  Given the need to move frequently with the military, she believes telemedicine is the best way to treat her patients and provide continuity of care.
