Zachariah Pranckun, D.O.
Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist
Dr. Pranckun is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. He graduated from The Schreyer Honors College of The Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Psychology and Sociology before working at the University of Colorado investigating health disparities. He earned his medical degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an Adult Psychiatry residency at University Hospitals Case Medicine Center/Case Western Reserve University, where he served as a Chief Resident. He then completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also served as a Chief Fellow.
For over five years, Dr. Pranckun was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior where he worked with patients in diverse settings, including a tertiary care children’s hospital, a college counseling center, a community mental health center, and a university faculty practice. Alongside his clinical work, he served as the Director of Child Outpatient Services and the Associate Program Director for both the Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship, where he supervised and taught psychiatric trainees. He continues to lecture, mentor, and supervise fellows in their outpatient caseloads.
Dr. Pranckun specializes in treating a wide variety of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD. He has extensive experience working with college students, graduate/professional students, and young professionals. He understands the unique challenges of this life stage and is passionate about helping patients navigate it successfully. He is also a LGBTQIA-affirming provider and considers it a privilege to serve this diverse community.
Utilizing a comprehensive, collaborative, and holistic approach, Dr. Pranckun fosters a therapeutic partnership where patients feel supported and heard. He is committed to evidence-based medicine and emphasizes shared decision-making, ensuring that patients play an active role in their treatment plans.
