Getting to know Steven Toffel, M.D.

Dr. Steven Toffel is a dedicated psychiatrist with a strong academic background and a passion for patient care. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, graduating summa cum laude. His fascination with psychiatry ignited during his college years, where he conducted research at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital, diving into the neurobiology of iPSC-derived neurons in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Continuing his education at the University of Florida, Dr. Toffel excelled in medical school, graduating with honors in research. He completed his psychiatry residency in 2024. Throughout his residency training, he has demonstrated a keen interest in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals facing a wide spectrum of mental illnesses, and was awarded multiple patient safety, medical student teaching, and research awards.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Toffel finds joy and relaxation in various hobbies. He shares a special bond with his three cats, explores the national parks with his wife, and cheers on his favorite baseball team, the New York Mets.
