Getting to know Sylvia Kim, M.D.

Dr. Sylvia Kim is a double board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist. She cares for adults of all ages and has experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including academic medical centers, community hospitals, and the Veterans Administration.

Dr. Kim completed her adult psychiatry residency at New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Stanford University Medical Center.

She has expertise in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and psychotic disorders in both adult and older adult populations. She has a special interest in supporting patients experiencing late-life depression, emotional challenges related to aging, and psychiatric conditions associated with memory changes or cognitive impairment.

Dr. Kim is committed to providing care that is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in respect. She believes that a trusting relationship is the foundation of effective treatment and strives to create a supportive environment for every patient. She is fluent in English and Korean and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds.
